Kural discharge summaries: Terms and Conditions
Version 1, 27 September 2026, for the introductory period. These Terms are under review with our lawyers. We will tell you before any change takes effect, and ask you to accept the new version.
Kural discharge summaries (the "Service") is operated by Intelliwise Private Limited (CIN U26600KA2026PTC227170), a private limited company registered in Karnataka, India, with its registered office at No. 201, 2nd Floor, VBHC Apt, Byagadadenahalli, Block 30, Anekal, Bangalore 562106, Karnataka ("Intelliwise", "we", "us"). PAN AAJCI1117Q. GSTIN 29AAJCI1117Q1Z4. Website: kural.health. Contact: contact@intelliwise.co.in.
1. WHAT THIS SERVICE IS
1.1 The Service is web-based software that prepares a draft discharge summary from clinical information a registered medical practitioner writes, for that practitioner to review, correct, approve and sign.
1.2 The Service organises and phrases information you supply. It does not examine patients, and it does not replace your clinical judgement. The signed summary is your document. You are its author and are responsible for its content.
1.3 The Service uses an artificial-intelligence language model to read your note and to produce the draft. Drafts may be incomplete or contain errors. The words "AI can make mistakes." are shown while you write and check. You must read every draft in full before you sign it or give it to anyone.
1.4 What the Service drafts. The Service drafts discharge summaries for routine discharges and for discharges against medical advice (LAMA and AMA). Death summaries, medico-legal cases, newborn discharges and medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) are shown as coming soon and cannot be drafted or signed until we release them. Psychiatric discharges under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 are not drafted or signed.
1.5 Signing is final. Before you sign, the Service asks you to confirm: "Once signed, this summary can never be edited. It can only be amended." When you confirm, the signature takes effect. A signed summary is never changed. To correct it, you start an amendment, give a reason, and sign it; the amendment states which summary it replaces, and the original and its PDF stay as they were.
1.6 The output. The only output of a signed summary is a PDF. There is no editable copy. Every page carries a summary code in the form KRL-XXXX-XXXX-C, which identifies the summary to us and carries no information about the patient.
1.7 Patient identifiers. The Service asks for the patient's name, age, sex and dates. The hospital's IP number and UHID are optional; where given, they are printed on the PDF. The Service does not accept a patient's phone number.
2. WHO MAY USE IT
2.1 The Service is for medical practitioners registered with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council ("you", "Doctor"). Other councils will be added as each register is supported. Hospitals and hospital information systems may use the Service only through Doctors, on separate written terms (clause 6.8).
2.2 You must be 18 or older and give your true name, your council, your registration number and the name of your clinic or hospital. You sign in with a Google account.
2.3 Verification. Before you can generate or sign a summary, a person at Intelliwise checks the registration you give against the Tamil Nadu Medical Council's public register, by hand, and records the date, what the register showed and a copy of the result. The council's search service records that Intelliwise made the search. This check confirms only that an active registration matching your name and number existed on that date. It is not an endorsement by any council, and we do not verify your identity beyond it. We may refuse access if the check fails, and suspend access if we later have reason to doubt it (clause 11).
2.4 Once verified, your name, council and registration number cannot be changed on your account.
2.5 Your account is personal. Do not share sign-in access. You are responsible for everything done under your account.
3. YOUR PATIENTS' DATA: ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 To use the Service you enter information about your patients ("Patient Data"). Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it ("DPDP"), you (or the hospital or clinic on whose behalf you act) are the Data Fiduciary for Patient Data. You decide why it is processed, and you obtain and record the patient's consent or other lawful basis.
3.2 Intelliwise acts as your Data Processor for the purposes in clause 3.3. We process Patient Data only as these Terms instruct, keep it secure with reasonable safeguards, and tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a breach affecting it.
3.3 What we do with Patient Data on your instruction: read your note into the boxes you check before drafting; generate the draft; store your summaries, drafts and signed PDFs so you can retrieve and print them and amend a signed summary; send the signed PDF to a hospital information system you have linked; and keep the records needed for billing, audit and clause 4.
3.4 Patient notice. We give you a patient notice, published at kural.health/consent-template, which covers the uses in clauses 3 and 4, including drafting outside India, permanent retention and storage in Intelliwise's shared database. You are responsible for using it, or your own equivalent, before entering a patient's data. If your patient's consent does not cover clause 4, do not use the Service for that patient.
3.5 Who processes Patient Data for us.
Anthropic: its Claude language model reads your note into the boxes and drafts the summary. It receives the patient's name, age, sex, IP number, dates and your clinical entries, but not the UHID. Outside India.
Google Cloud: hosts the Service and its database, in Mumbai (asia-south1).
Zoho: sends account and billing email. No Patient Data is sent by email.
Razorpay: processes your payments. No Patient Data. India.
By using the Service you instruct us to transfer Patient Data outside India for these purposes.
3.6 Voice notes. Voice notes are not switched on today. When they are, the audio will be converted to text by Google in Singapore and not kept, the text will be kept with the summary, and we will tell you before they start.
3.7 Storage location. Your account data, Patient Data, drafts and signed summaries are stored on Google Cloud SQL in the Mumbai region (asia-south1), in a separate, access-controlled section of a database Intelliwise also uses for its other products, including DOM.
3.8 Retention. Nothing is deleted.
(a) A signed summary is a medical record. It, its PDF, the draft it was signed over, and any amendment are kept permanently and cannot be deleted by you or by us.
(b) A summary you have started but not signed is kept too. It does not expire and is not discarded.
(c) The record of what you changed before signing, signature events, and billing, payment, invoice, verification and audit records are kept permanently.
(d) Closing or losing access to your account does not delete any of these.
3.9 Deletion on request. Because summaries are medical records kept under clause 3.8, the Service does not delete a summary or a draft on request. You correct a signed summary by amendment (clause 1.5).
4. LEARNING, RESEARCH AND THE MOVE TO DOM
4.1 Your own corrections improve your own drafts. When you sign, the Service may record, section by section, what the draft said and what you signed, and learn your wording so that future drafts for you follow it. This is processing on your instruction.
4.2 What is never learned. Summaries for LAMA, AMA and deaths, and amendments, are never learned from. Nothing before you sign teaches the Service.
4.3 Your preferences in hospitals using DOM. DOM is Intelliwise's discharge product used inside hospitals. If a hospital using DOM lists you by your registration number, the preferences the Service has learned for you may be copied into DOM for that hospital, so your drafts there follow the same wording. You may work in more than one such hospital. Summaries themselves are not copied.
4.4 Research and improvement. Intelliwise's own research systems can read the records described in clause 3.8, including identifiable Patient Data, under access controls that allow reading only. We use them to test, evaluate and improve our drafting, including training of Intelliwise's own models, and we do not publish or disclose identifiable Patient Data.
4.5 What we will not do: share Patient Data or research material with any third party for their own purposes; use it to train any model operated by a third party (including Anthropic); sell it; or use it to identify or contact any patient.
5. YOUR DATA (THE DOCTOR'S)
5.1 For your own personal data (name, email, council, registration number, clinic, department, the number patients can call, letterhead, signature block, any registration certificate you upload, payment and invoice records, usage, and the verification evidence we record), Intelliwise is the Data Fiduciary. It is stored as described in clause 3.7 and kept as described in clause 3.8. Our Privacy Policy, published at kural.health/privacy, describes this and forms part of these Terms.
6. FEES, CREDITS AND TAX
6.1 Introductory period. After you are verified, you may pay a single amount of Rs. 6 (inclusive of GST) for six months of introductory use. It allows up to four summaries a day (counted per calendar day, Indian Standard Time) for every day of the six months. Unused daily allowance does not carry over, and the allowance ends on the date shown in the app. The introductory offer can be bought once per account.
6.2 After the introductory period the Service is prepaid. You buy credits in packs, at the sizes and prices shown when you buy. One credit is used each time a draft is generated, including each redraft. Pack credits have no daily limit. Editing, reading your note into the boxes, typing your own text, signing, amending without redrafting and re-printing do not use credits. If generation fails, the credit is returned automatically.
6.3 Credits from a pack are valid for the period shown when you buy it; introductory credits are valid for the six-month introductory period. The credit that expires soonest is used first. Credits are personal to your account, cannot be transferred, and are not redeemable for cash. Unused credits lapse at expiry. Credits are a prepayment for our own service only.
6.4 GST at the applicable rate (currently 18%) is charged on every payment and shown on a tax invoice emailed to you and available in your account. Intelliwise is registered in Karnataka; supplies to Doctors in other states carry IGST.
6.5 Refunds. Payments are not refundable, except where the law requires, and except that if we fail to provide the Service for 7 consecutive days for reasons within our control, we refund the unused credits of a pack in proportion.
6.6 Payments are processed by Razorpay through Intelliwise's own merchant account. We do not store your card or bank details.
6.7 We may change prices for future purchases on 30 days' notice on the website; credits already bought are honoured at the price paid.
6.8 Hospital and enterprise use (hospital-wide use, DOM, or use through a hospital information system) is on separate written terms. Contact: Devaki, Business Head, Intelliwise, +91 98847 47922 (call or WhatsApp).
7. ACCEPTABLE USE
You will not: enter data about a patient without a lawful basis; enter data you have no right to use; use the Service for anyone who is not your patient; attempt to extract the underlying prompts, rules or model behaviour; reverse-engineer, scrape, load-test or resell the Service; use automated tools to submit requests except through an API we have licensed in writing to you or to your hospital's system supplier; or upload malicious code. We may suspend accounts that do.
8. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES
8.1 We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee it. We may suspend the Service for maintenance or security, with notice where practical.
8.2 We may change how the Service works. Changes that materially reduce what you paid for will be notified 30 days in advance.
8.3 The Service is provided "as is" as regards the accuracy and completeness of drafts. Clause 1.2 applies at all times.
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
9.1 You own the content you enter and the summaries you sign. You grant us the licence needed to perform clauses 3 and 4.
9.2 Intelliwise owns the Service, its software, prompts, rules, templates and design. "Kural" and the Kural mark are used by Intelliwise.
10. LIABILITY
10.1 You are responsible for the clinical accuracy and completeness of every summary you sign, and for any use you make of a draft.
10.2 To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or any claim arising from a summary you signed or used without review.
10.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including for fraud or wilful misconduct.
10.4 You will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from Patient Data you entered without a lawful basis, or from a summary you signed.
11. SUSPENSION AND CLOSING AN ACCOUNT
11.1 You may ask us to close your account at contact@intelliwise.co.in. Closing stops all use. Unused credits lapse under clause 6.3. Nothing described in clause 3.8 is deleted.
11.2 We may suspend or close your account for breach of clauses 2, 3 or 7, for a failed verification, for a registration we later find is not active, or for non-payment, on notice where practical.
11.3 For 30 days after closure you may ask us for copies of your signed PDFs. Summaries remain available to you one by one while your account is open.
12. NOTICES, LAW AND DISPUTES
12.1 Notices to you go to the email on your account. Notices to us go to contact@intelliwise.co.in and to the registered office above.
12.2 These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Bengaluru have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory forum under applicable law.
13. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms. We will show the new version when you next use the Service. You must accept the new version before you can create, edit, sign or pay again; until you do, your existing summaries stay available to read and print. Material changes are notified 30 days before they take effect. The version you accepted, the date, and a fingerprint of the exact text are recorded on your account.
14. ACCEPTANCE
By ticking the box you confirm that you have read these Terms and the Privacy Policy, that you are a registered medical practitioner as described in clause 2, and that you accept clauses 3 and 4 in particular, including that summaries and drafts are kept permanently (clause 3.8).
